Which Mighty Mule Models This Applies To

Mighty Mule has used several control systems over the years, and the access control parts are not interchangeable between series. The older MM260, MM360, and MM371 series used a control board mounted inside the arm or in a separate housing near the gate post. The newer MM562, MM572, and MM600 series moved to a combined receiver-and-control module, which means a keypad or receiver swap on one of those is a different part number and a different wiring layout than on your neighbor’s 2012 MM360. The fastest way to identify what you have is to look at the metal tag on the opener arm itself: the model number is stamped there, not on the control box. If that tag has worn smooth, we match the board by the connector pattern and the number of wires coming off the limit switch. For Mighty Mule specifically, we generally recommend OEM Mighty Mule boards and keypads over generic aftermarket equivalents, because the aftermarket boards for this brand have a reputation in Sherman Oaks’s sun and heat for drifting limit settings and failing receiver signal after a hot summer.
